Fully Reimbursed Join the list

An iPhone app for Canadian households

Your insurance plans owe you money. This tracks it until they pay.

Insurance companies make claiming exactly as hard as they're allowed to, and they count on you giving up. Fully Reimbursed is a counterweight: it tracks every claim in your household, knows where to submit next, and does the paperwork's paperwork.

A claim for $180 of dental cleaning, start to finish

Sara has one Sun Life plan through work. Riley has two with Greenshield (work and school) plus a HSA spending account. In order to maximize their benefits, they have to submit to all four accounts.

01

Open the app, see what you're still owed

One number for what the household is still owed, and one short list of what to do about it, split by person and sorted by what it's worth. Everything enters through one button: add a document, the app files it. Sara's cleaning still has $36 outstanding, so let's follow it.

02

See everything you've done

And the next steps

Details of your claim, links to the receipt, previously submitted claims, and next steps, all at a glance.

03

The submission order is worked out for you

It's Sara's claim, so Sun Life pays first. Riley's coverage takes the leftover in order (his work plan, then his school plan) and his work HSA takes whatever survives all three. Stop having claims be denied or utilizing your coverage ineffectively because you submitted in the wrong order.

04

A denial becomes a next step, not a dead end

Riley's work plan denied the claim because it wanted the Sun Life statement first. Most denials are paperwork like this, and most never get re-submitted. Here the denial says what's missing, and the missing document is already attached, ready to be downloaded and uploaded to the appropriate portal.

05

Resubmitting is easy with all the required documents in one place

Tap Resubmit and the app tells you exactly what to do: which document to attach and where to send it. It estimates when the claim should be processed, and you'll get a notification when it's time to check.

06

The app follows up so you don't have to

About two weeks later, a notification asks you to check Greenshield for the result and add it to the claim.

07

Documents are parsed by machines, but you verify the results

Drop in a photo or PDF and it joins a review queue. OCR and AI find the provider, date and amount, highlighted right on the document so you can see where each value came from. Nothing is saved until you confirm it. The processing of sensitive documents happens using on-device intelligence. Nothing ever leaves your device, and AI tools don't make choices without oversight.

Your health data is none of our business. By design.

You're already trusting insurers with too much. You shouldn't have to trust us too, so the app is built so you don't have to.

iPhone-only, on purpose

The document reading runs on Apple's on-device intelligence. Your receipts and statements are parsed on your phone. There is no upload step, so there's nothing to intercept and no server logs to worry about.

Synced through your iCloud, not our cloud

The household's claims and documents live in your own encrypted iCloud and sync between your devices from there. The raw files never touch our infrastructure. We don't have any to breach.

Everyone pitches in from their own phone

Each family member installs the app, photographs their own receipts, and sees what tasks are next

Worth knowing even if you never sign up

How does coordination of benefits work in Canada?

If you and your partner each have benefits through work, you are allowed to claim the same expense from both plans: first from one, then the leftover from the other. The industry calls this coordination of benefits. It's money many Canadian households leave behind, because the process is deliberately opaque.

The order is what matters. Your own plan pays first on your expenses. Your partner's plan pays first on theirs. Whichever plan didn't go first is the secondary plan, and it will only consider what's left over, which means it needs the first plan's decision before it can do anything.

A health spending account (HSA), if either of you has one, is the last stop rather than the first: submit to both group plans, then send whatever they left behind to the spending account.

Two more rules follow from all this. Never submit to the secondary plan first: it will ask for a decision that doesn't exist yet. And never throw away a rejection: a denial from the primary plan is exactly the document the secondary plan needs. Sun Life, Canada Life, Manulife and the rest all work this way, they just each have their own forms, portals and deadlines for it.

Who made this

Made at a kitchen table, not by an insurer

We're a couple with multiple insurance plans living in Ontario, Canada, and one of us is a software engineer with ten years of experience. A few years of massage receipts, pharmacy printouts and "denied, see code" letters convinced us the system quietly counts on you giving up: every abandoned claim is money an insurer keeps. So we built the thing we wished existed. We run every one of our own claims through it, with over $2,000 recovered in the past year.

There's no venture capital here and no data to sell. The plan is simple: one fixed price per year, unlimited claims. You're the customer, not the product. Just an app for people who'd like the money they are owed by insurance companies, made by people who wanted theirs.
